I’v been reading the Culture at Netflix presentation upon suggestion by @dharmesh and I found great insights for our Peer-Learning business, and confirmation of its validity as a management and development tool for forward looking companies!

Context not Control

  • The best managers figure out how to get great outcomes by setting the appropriate context, rather than by trying to control their people.
  • Provide the insight and understanding to enable sound decisions
  • High performance people will do better work if they understand the context

A few weeks ago I had six meetings in a row in Utrecht for developing the Dutch branch of my business for Entrepreneurs Peer-Learning.

The great thing of it is that I met 6 RELEVANT people about Entrepreneurs Peer-Learning and Collaborative Knowledge Creation who I got to know exclusively through twitter. The first Enterprise Camp in the Netherlands is due on 12 May 2010. The theme of the Camp is Social Media Marketing for Small Business and Early Stage Entrepreneurs.
The Camp will be hosted by the third meeting of SMC030, the Social Media Club of Utrecht.

I am extremely pleased to announce that we are preparing the event in collaboration with Mischa Coster (@mcoster) and Martijn Klein (@martijnklein).
